WestJet will launch new services to Toronto on 23 May, with 13 flights a week between Toronto and Calgary and Toronto and Edmonton. The Calgary-based discount carrier is acquiring 10 more Boeing 737-700s this year and plans to add more Canadian routes. EVA Air Cargo will start twice-weekly flights between Milan and Taipei on 10 April using a Boeing MD-11 freighter. The service will route Taipei-Sharjah-Brussels-Milan-Bombay-Taipei. Dragonair has launched its most extensive summer schedule, boosting frequencies to 14 mainland Chinese cities. Shanghai and Beijing see the biggest rise in frequencies, with services increased from 48 to 56 times a week and 37 to 42 times a week respectively. After a year of replacing flights between Brussels and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport with a high-speed rail service, Air France is increasing rail capacity by 40% this month. The high-speed Thalys trains operates five times daily between Brussels city centre and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport in 75 minutes, with Air France blocking two carriages for its exclusive use on the first two early morning trains. The airline will increase capacity by blocking a third carriage, bringing daily passenger capacity to 624 seats.
