Launch customer for Gulstream IV-SP derivative to take on medical and repatriation work

Royal Jet has taken delivery of the first Gulfstream G300, becoming the launch operator of the large- cabin business jet. A medical-evacuation-configured G300 is due to arrive within the next three weeks, providing the launch pad for the Abu Dhabi-based charter operator's medevac programme, Royal Med.

The venture is one of several commercial offerings under study at Royal Jet, which says it has received an "overwhelming" response for its VIP charter services since the launch three months ago by joint venture partners Abu Dhabi Aviation and Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight.

Royal Med will take over medevac and repatriation work previously undertaken by Amiri Flight, which will now only provide medevac services for the Abu Dhabi royal family, says Royal Jet chief executive, Tilmann Gabriel. "Royal Med will operate a dedicated and specially configured G300, completed by LifePort in the USA. The aircraft will free up our Boeing Business Jet, which will be deployed for charter and airliner services," Gabriel says.

"We are experiencing strong growth throughout our business, exceeding all our expectations," Gabriel adds. Royal Jet plans to expand its services to include block charter and aircraft management.
