Abu Dhabi-based private flight operator Royal Jet has contracted French maintenance provider Sabena technics to refurbish one of its six Boeing Business Jets.
The aircraft (registration A6-AIN) will be fitted with new interior equipment, including seats and beds, as well as an in-flight entertainment and communications system, comprising satcom, wi-fi networks and global mobile systems.
It will also be repainted and undergo certain airframe maintenance work, although this will not be a heavy check, a Sabena technics spokeswoman told Flightglobal.
The twinjet was built in 1999 and is configured with 46 seats, according to Flightglobal's Ascend database.
Work will be carried out at Sabena technics' VIP completion facility in Bordeaux, France, and is scheduled to take five months.
Royal Jet will meanwhile lease a replacement aircraft.
