Russian authorities have ordered checks on the rudder hinge and actuator fittings on Sukhoi Superjet 100s.
The directive from federal air transport agency Rosaviatsia instructs operators of the twinjet to conduct the check before the next flight.
"If damage to the hinges is found, the operation of the aircraft shall be suspended," it states.
Rosaviatsia has ordered the inspections to be carried out before 5 June. Aircraft not checked before this date must be grounded.
The directive has been issued after damage was detected on an Aeroflot Superjet 100, which the authority has identified as RA-89051.
This aircraft was delivered to the flag-carrier two years ago.
Rosaviatsia has referenced a Sukhoi Civil Aircraft inspection procedure designed to detect cracks in the surface of the rudder actuator attach fittings, as well as a task developed to check for mechanical damage to the rudder hinge.
