Russian Helicopters has opened a representative office in Hanoi to access new markets in Southeast Asia and Australia.
"As one of the rapidly developing countries of the region and a long-term partner of Russia, Vietnam is an important aviation market for the company and a firm foothold for further development of business and the popularisation of Russian rotorcraft in Southeast Asia," Russian Helicopters said in a statement.
The Hanoi office will support parts delivery, leasing and maintenance service in Vietnam and regionally.
Russian Helicopters added that 300 Mil and Kamov helicopters are operated in Southeast Asia and Australia. Of these, 60 are in Vietnam, where Russian-built helicopters comprise 50% of the civilian market and 90% of the military market.
