Russian Helicopters has signed a long-term agreement with the Ramenskoye Design Company (RDC) covering the latter's provision of avionics equipment for the Kamov Ka-52 "Alligator" attack helicopter, and also to support upgrades to the shipborne Ka-27/29.
Spanning the period from 2013 until 2020, the first part of the agreement includes the supply of avionics for a planned Ka-52K shipborne variant of the combat rotorcraft, Russian Helicopters says.

In-service Ka-27/29s will receive a new navigation system, along with a glass cockpit upgrade using open architecture avionics and multifunction displays. Derived from equipment already installed with the Ka-52 and ship-based Ka-31, the combination will "make piloting substantially easier and clearly convey a broad array of information to pilots," Russian Helicopters says.
The Oboronprom-owned company says its new arrangement with RDC will enable it "to modernise its avionics systems more rapidly, and to introduce next-generation digital technologies in the latest Ka- helicopters."
