Sikorsky's new S-92 multi-mission helicopter has demonstrated its ability to discharge chaff and flare countermeasures at the US Naval Weapons Test Centre at China Lake, California. The ALE-47 chaff and flare countermeasures dispensing system is widely used on US military helicopters and is part of the S-92's survivability suite. Meanwhile, offshore helicopter operator Bristow is adding four S-92s to its fleet.
