Saab is restructuring its maintenance and overhaul business units in an attempt to streamline operations, focus more closely on core business and exploit synergies between divisions.

SAAB ORGANISATION

In the long term, Saab says the changes will lead to “new business opportunities and increased revenues to both Saab and its customers”.

The company says it is creating a “new consolidated operation, providing component services to both civil and military customers”.

Saab Aviocomp, the Swedish company’s component support division, will become part of a newly created civil and military aftermarket support and service business Saab Aerotech, to be divided into five units – Ground Support Services, Aircraft Services, Electronic Systems Services, Metech Calibration Services and MainPartner, which will include Saab Aviocomp. This unit will also deal with products and services in the logistics support, maintenance, component repair infrastructure development and support areas. Saab Aerotech employs around 2,000 staff under president Lars Erik Wige.
