Speculation was growing in Belgium as Flight International closed for press that national carrier Sabena is preparing to file for bankruptcy. The carrier has "concordat" protection from its creditors until the end of November. Although a restructuring plan is to be presented to the Brussels Court of Commerce on 15 November, local reports suggest that the airline's management is considering declaring bankruptcy. Sabena declines to comment on the reports and suggestions that it is transferring slots to regional subsidiary Delta Air Transport (DAT). Any restructuring of Sabena will be based on DAT.
