The Philippines now complies fully with safety standards set out by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), says the US Federal Aviation Administration. Countries whose carriers fly to the USA must adhere to ICAO safety guidelines. The Philippines failed to satisfy the standards in a 1995 inspection.
