Air Methods just keeps on buying AS350
US air ambulance specialist Air Methods has signed for a further batch of Eurocopter AS350B2 Astar helicopters to expand its fleet of the type. Air Methods is the largest air medical transportation provider in the US.
In 2005 it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eurocopter to buy 10 AS350s per year indefinitely. Earlier this year, it signed up for a further batch of 10 AS350 B2s, before contracting yesterday for a similar-sized group, taking its orders so far this year to 30. The latest group of aircraft will be delivered next year.

Eaton wins $20m Phenom deal
Eaton Aerospace has been selected by Embraer to provide the hydraulic power generation system for its Phenom 300 light jet. The contract is valued at around $20million over the life of the programme. The contract will see Eaton design, develop and manufacture the aircraft’s hydraulic power generation system. Eaton is actively pursuing additional packages on the Phenom 300.

A dash of performance
US based Premier Aircraft has signed a contract to upgrade a fourth Falcon 50 to its 50Dash4 specifications. So far the first converted 50Dash4 has reported up to 25kt higher cruise speeds, 30% reduction in time to climb and 4,000ft higher initial cruise altitudes. It is expected to gain EASA certification later this year. The upgrade costs around $2m.

Hawker Beechcraft signs with Satyam
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation has signed an engineering services agreement with Satyam Computer Services. Announced at the European Business Aviation Convention last month, the contract calls for Satyam to provide high-end design, computer-aided engineering analysis, product lifecycle management, and other services to the company.
