Representatives of Eastern Aero Marine (E900b), a leading supplier of inflatable safety gear, believe that the aviation safety industry has to be prepared for major changes to meet the market needs of the future.
Manny Gato, director of international sales for Europe, Middle East and Asia, says changes will be propelled by technological advancement and rising fuel prices.
Re-engineered
He adds that many existing products will also have to be re-engineered to meet the new European Aviation Safety Authority rules which are due to come into effect in the next few years.
“Even though we currently supply the lightest single weight vest in the market, we are constantly trying to better ourselves to make even lighter and technologically superior products,” Gato says.
He adds that new products are in the pipeline and will be announced in coming months.
