Video taken from the cabin of an Envoy Air Embraer ERJ-145 shows the moment the aircraft slides off an icy Chicago runway on 11 November.
The aircraft was operating for American Airlines as flight 4125 from Greensboro’s Piedmont Triad International airport to Chicago O’Hare International airport.
It landed in Chicago at about 08:30 local time, according to American’s website.
Video posted on Twitter shows the aircraft’s right wing during landing. After touching down, the ERJ slows and appears to careen off the runway, its right wing coming to rest on snow-covered grass.
“We’re sliding. We’re sliding,” one passenger can be heard saying.

American confirms the aircraft “slid off the runway due to icy conditions at Chicago O’Hare.”
“All 38 passengers and three crew members were deplaned from the aircraft and are now safely back in the terminal,” American says in a statement.
The Federal Aviation Administration did not respond to a request for comment.
The aircraft operating flight 4125 was an ERJ-145 with registration N619AE. That aircraft was manufactured in 1998 and had logged 44,600h of flight time and 40,600 cycles as of March 2019, according to Cirium fleets data.
