Icelandair has joined the group of European carriers which are suspending Boeing 737 Max 8 operations.
But the airline says the temporary suspension affects only three of the type, even though the carrier operates six Max jets.
It received its first Max 8 a year ago and, in February, took delivery of its first Max 9.
The airline’s overall Max fleet, including the single Max 9, comprises six aircraft according to Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer.
Iceland’s civil aviation regulators have not indicated any enforced prohibition on using the type.
Icelandair Group states that it remains “confident” over the safety of the Max 8 and that, in the short term, the suspension will have no material impact on its operations.
