A passenger on board a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Boeing 737-800 was killed by special forces on 24 February after he attempted to hijack the aircraft.
The aircraft, registered S2-AHV, was operating flight BG147 from Dhaka to Chittagong, when the incident happened.
Local media reports said that the suspect had tried to enter the cockpit, and threatened the crew with a pistol when he was blocked. He then threatened to blow up the aircraft with explosives.
The aircraft made an emergency landing at Chittagong, where special forces were waiting. The army called for the suspect to surrender, to which he held a crew member hostage, while releasing the other 147 passengers and crew.
The suspect was carried out injured after special forces stormed the aircraft, but died later. The hostage was uninjured.
In a televised press conference, a senior army official said the suspect had wanted to speak to the country's prime minister.
