Safran, the group formed earlier this year following the merger of Snecma and Sagem, has no intention of buying a stake in Thales, says Safran chief executive Jean-Paul Bechat.
At a press conference prior to the Paris airshow, Bechat said Safran was not seeking to invest for the sake of investing and is "not interested in taking over a minority stake in any company", adding that the priority is to ensure the new group succeeds.
Dassault chairman Serge Dassault recently said the company plans to sell its 5.7% Thales stake.
