Beijing Capital General Aviation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korea's Samsung Aerospace for three Samsung Bell SB427 helicopters. The MoU was signed just before the show started and a contract is expected soon.

The helicopters, which are to be delivered next year, will be used for sightseeing over the Great Wall. The SB427, three of which have already been ordered by Heli Korea in Seoul, is expected to achieve type certification in the first part of 1999.

The manufacturer also claims to have interest from other Chinese operators, including Hainan Airlines. Samsung says that if the Chinese market exceeds a total of 250 helicopters, it will then offer final assembly of the SB427 to Changhe Aircraft.
