SAS Group has sold an Airbus A330-300 to Florida-based Aviator Capital under a sale and leaseback.
The 2002-vintage aircraft, MSN 497, will undergo a front-to-back cabin modification in the first quarter of next year, at SR Technics, as part of a makeover of SAS's entire A330/340 widebody fleet.
The company did not disclose the lease terms with Aviator Capital, but Flightglobal understands that the A330-300 will stay at SAS beyond the first A350-900 deliveries.
Scandinavian Airlines will receive its first A350 in 2018.
The A330 sale, arranged by SkyWorks Leasing, marks the first transaction by the two parties.
Aviator Capital is the manager of two large closed-end funds.
Earlier this year, SAS signed a 12-year sale-and-leaseback deal with Chinese bank Bocomm, covering four Airbus A330-300s to be delivered during 2015-16.
The group disclosed last year that it was taking the A330s as part of a broader fleet-renewal programme that would include acquiring eight Airbus A350-900s.
