Pilots of Scandinavian Airlines are threatening legal action after the carrier pressed ahead last week with splitting its pilot corps along individual national boundaries.
Pilots are examining legal options following their split into individual Danish and Swedish groups – complementing the existing Norwegian group established in 2004.
Scandinavian Airlines parent SAS Group says that the reorganisation is part of the company’s move towards a localised structure. But pilots are concerned that the move will disrupt seniority lists at the carrier, restricting their ability to occupy equivalent posts across the airline’s three owner states.
