SAS fills vacant seats

SAS now has a fully staffed senior management group, with the appointment of two key executives after a series of changes that started with the resignation of deputy chief executive Vagn Sørensen in July 2001.

It has appointed Gunilla Berg as chief financial officer (CFO) and John Dueholm as executive vice-president responsible for airline support and airline-related businesses. Berg was CFO of Scandinavian retail group Kooperativa Forbundet, while Dueholm, who was with SAS as a manager at its data and technical divisions from 1990-98, comes from security firm Group4Falck. He will oversee SAS Cargo, ground and technical services.

SAS adopted its new group management structure in July, with a senior team responsible for five key areas. The other members are deputy chief executive Gunnar Reitan, who is responsible for subsidiary & affiliated airlines and hotels, and Bernhard Rikardsen, executive vice-president responsible for corporate administration & support.

President and chief executive Jörgen Lindegaard will, until further notice, continue in the role he recently assumed as acting chief operating officer.
