Magellan Aerospace has completed construction of Canada's first science satellite for 40 years at its Bristol Aerospace subsidiary in Winnipeg.

Called SCISAT-1, it will be launched aboard an Orbital Sciences Pegasus XL booster on a NASA mission in January 2003, to study atmospheric chemistry.The main mission is to measure and understand the chemical processes that control the distribution and depletion of ozone in the Earth's atmosphere, particularly at high latitudes.
