The US Government has suspended a licence to export a Hughes-built communications satellite to China for launch pending an investigation into the activities of a Hughes employee, computer scientist Shen Jun. He is the son of Lt Gen Shen Rongjun, who oversees the high technology military development programme in China. The satellite has been built for the Asia Pacific Mobile Telecommunications company.
