Alenia Marconi Systems has announced a £7 million ($11million) deal for the supply and installation of two radar systems for the air traffic control of the King Abdul Aziz airport in Jeddah and the King Khalid airport in Riyadh, two of Saudi Arabia¹s international airports.

The joint venture has already supplied air traffic management systems to Qatar and the UAE.

In all Alenia Marconi will supply three radar and integrated logistics support and training in a turnkey operation due for completion by the end of 2001.

An ATCR 33/S solid state primary radar with a SIR-M, secondary radar for the Jeddah airport and the one SIR-M radar for Riyadh will continue the improvements of the past year in Saudi Arabian civil aviation operations.
