Embraer has concluded the first sale of large regional jets to a Middle East carrier with an order from Saudi Arabian Airlines for 15 Embraer 170s. The deal is valued at $400 million. The airline expects to take delivery of its first two aircraft in December, with two more due to arrive in January next year and the remainder following at a rate of one a month. Embraer says the Saudi Arabian deal is an important first for its E-170/190 family in the Middle East, where the company hopes to expand its presence through commercial and defence sales.
