Saudi Arabia has agreed a deferred-payment schedule for its $6 billion purchase of 61 Boeing and McDonnell Douglas airliners for flag carrier Saudia. The initial payment is just $10 million, followed by $67 million in 1997, with the remainder to be paid off over seven years. The deal will be financed domestically. The manufacturers will help Saudia sell its existing fleet when new-aircraft deliveries begin in mid-1997.
