The Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) has held its second Skills in Aerospace national workshop.

More than 90 delegates attended, including representatives from the industry, unions, academia and regional development agencies.

For the first time, around 35 training providers were present, organising their own workshop activities for attendees.

Rhiannon Chapman, SBAC’s skills adviser, says: “The skills problem is a national problem for the UK, but we in aerospace have taken up the challenge to improve the situation. The next stage is for our regional partners to establish their own skills and training networks and activities.”
