US Federal Aviation Administration vice-president of safety James Schear has unexpectedly resigned to head US Airways' restructuring team. Schear will now serve as vice-president of restructuring for the troubled US major, which is working on its second reorganisation in two years to stave off another Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing.
