Dutch aviation company Schreiner Group has agreed to buy Amsterdam-based charter carrier Air Holland. The airline operates two Boeing 737-300s and four 757-200s. It is attractive because of its slot holdings at crowded Schiphol Airport, although the Schreiner deal should allow it to continue operations.

• Meanwhile, French regional Proteus Airlines has agreed to buy Lille-based Flandre Air. Together, the airlines have 23 37-50 seat Embraer regional jets on order.

Proteus has a franchise agreement with Air France. President Marc Dugain says Flandre's franchise operation for British Airways subsidiary Air Liberté will be dropped. The merged airline will be renamed and moved to Lyon.
