Schweizer Aircraft has confirmed its interest in Boeing's MD500 and MD600 helicopter lines and says it has submitted an offer.

The Elmira, New York-based manufacturer is competing with at least two other companies, including rivals Enstrom, and Belgian Boeing helicopter distributor Heli Fly, which has bid for the entire former McDonnell Douglas civil range, including the MD902. Industrial sources say that protracted negotiations are expected to reach a conclusion this month.

Meanwhile, Panamanian helicopter operator Helix-Craft has taken delivery of a Model 330SP turbine machine.

The four-seat helicopter will be deployed on charter and photographic work, as well as on search and rescue missions.
