France's Hispano-Suiza has come up with a new thrust reverser concept, known as the Scoop door thrust reverse.

The company, a builder of nacelles and thrust reversers with design and production experience on cascades (DC8) and pivot doors (A320-A340) says its new concept combines performance and safety.

In the Scoop door concept, when in reverse, the doors do not open outward, they pivot inward, obstructing the fan flow while opening a passage to the outside.Hispano-Suiza is proposing this type of reverser for all aircraft.

As shown on the air show display model, it can use an electrical control system with active lock to improve its safety, availability and reliability while reducing the control system weight by about 15%.
