AeroNet, a community intranet for the air transport and aerospace industries, is attracting many affiliates for its creator, SITA, a leading provider of global telecommunications and information services to the air transport industry.
Potentially the AeroNet affiliates programme can allow 10,000 aerospace companies from within the industry's supply chain to access the secure on-line communication.
Peter Percival, SITA's director aerospace development, says: "By launching the AeroNet affiliates initiative, SITA will enable the whole aerospace industry to realise the benefits of secure on-line communications.
"This will also help to create one of the largest electronic trading communities in the world, with AeroNet providing the most efficient means for easy, secure communications between trading partners."
The number of AeroNet affiliates is expected to rise quickly to more than 400 aerospace companies.
