A multi-capability defensive aids system for combat aircraft and a complete range of infrared-based missile-warning devices can be seen at booth A937, home of Elisra Group.
The Israeli company’s Spectrolite combines the functions of a defensive aids system – controlling chaff, flares and electronic countermeasures - and the gathering of intelligence on electronic threats, otherwise known as ESM (electronic support measures).
Spectrolite packs all these capabilities into a single unit. Acting on data from an integrated missile warning system, it can direction-find and locate hostile emitters, and control chaff and flare dispensers and a jamming system.
The Elisra line of infrared-based products is headed by the helicopter-borne passive approach warning system (PAWS), combining in one package missile approach warning, panoramic display, collision avoidance and small-arms fire warning and detection.
The related PAWS-2 is designed for fast jets. Self Protection IR Suites (SPIRS) is destined for military transport applications and the PAWS-based Lorica is for airliners.
