Asiana Airlines and General Electric Engine Services have launched a new on-wing engine support joint venture branded GE On Wing Support-Korea at Seoul's Kimpo airport.

Asiana spokesman Oh Kyung-Keun says from Seoul that the new venture was granted approval to commence operations by South Korea's Ministry of Construction and Transportation in December.

US-based GE has added the new joint venture to its global On Wing Support network. The Asiana tie-up was announced as a memorandum of understanding at the Paris Airshow in June.
