Serbian low-cost airline Centavia is to start operations from Belgrade this year with Boeing 737s, initially serving Athens, Frankfurt and Istanbul. The airline is headed by former Jat Airways general manager Predrag Vujovic, who was last year chief executive of aborted low-cost start-up Air Maxi, a joint venture between local consortium Delta and Aviogenex (Flight International, 5-11 April 2005). Both companies deny involvement in the airline. Meanwhile, Jat is to launch Canada and US flights in May.
