Lockheed Martin Federal Systems flew the US Navy's upgraded Sikorsky SH-60R Seahawk for the first time on 22 December. The remanufactured Seahawk helicopter will test the Lockheed Martin-developed common cockpit and updated mission system. A second prototype is to fly in March and a go-ahead to remanufacture and upgrade 243 aircraft, extending the SH-60's service life to 2020, is expected in the second quarter.
