Shandong Airlines has selected Goodrich to supply wheels and brakes for a fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Delivery is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2002.
Paul Snyder, vice-president, Commercial Wheels and Brakes, says: "We're increasing our presence within China and will continue to pursue new business in this rapidly growing area.
Approval
"This Shandong Airlines win culminates several years of work on the part of our personnel in China."
Shandong Airlines won approval from the China Civil Aviation Bureau to begin passenger and cargo operations in 1994. The arrival of the airline's first Boeing 737-300 aircraft allowed it to begin services to the Chinese cities of Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai and Jining in the spring of 1995.
