Singapore Airlines subsidiary SIA Engineering has acquired Australian line maintenance company Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia (AMSA).

SIA Engineering says in a stock exchange filing that the acquisition of the privately held company has been completed, after an initial agreement covering the purchase of all of AMSA was signed in June.

The purchase price has not been disclosed. SIA Engineering says the acquisition “is part of the company’s continuing efforts to capture a larger slice of the global maintenance, repair and overhaul market by extending its reach to new growth markets and broadening the span of its services to offer total maintenance solutions to airlines”.

AMSA was established in 1992 and has line maintenance bases in Adelaide, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney airports. Customers include Singapore Airlines, Freedom Airlines, Alliance Airlines and Strategic Aviation.
