In 1995, SIAI Marchetti achieved its 80th year of operation as an aircraft manufacturer. Over 900 examples of the SF260 family of training aircraft have been produced for 24 air forces.

Alenia has converted four ex-airline Boeing 707s to tanker/transport configuration for the Italian air force. The aircraft were completely overhauled before being fitting with three Sargent Fletcher hose/drogue refuelling pods and a cargo door.
