Singapore Airlines' long-haul, low-cost subsidiary Scoot has brought forward its service commencement date to 4 June.

The carrier will start operations with a daily service to Sydney, followed by Gold Coast on 12 June, says the airline.

It did not provide a reason for bringing forward its launch date from 26 June. Scoot will start with a fleet of four Boeing 777-200s purchased from its parent.
