UK support services company Signature Flight Support, a subsidiary of BBA Aviation, has acquired Avitat Boca Raton, Florida.

Signature acquired Avitat Boca Raton, a fixed-based operation (FBO) at Boca Raton airport for a cash consideration of $21 million on a debt and cash-free basis.

The FBO consists of a 17,000ft² (1,580m²) terminal and 72,000ft² of hangarage.

Meanwhile, Signature has disposed of its loss-making Spirit of St Louis FBO and maintenance centre in Missouri for a cash consideration of $3.25 million to TAC Air, an existing operator on the site.

The Avitat Boca Raton deal follows Signature's acquisition last week of Tropical Aviation Corporation in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a cash consideration of $3 million.

The Puerto Rican company's FBO is at the Isla Grande-Fernando L Ribas Dominicci Airport, San Juan's business and general aviation airport, which features a dedicated US Customs and Border Protection facility and draws international flights from South America en route to the USA.
