Sikorsky has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Doha, Qatar-based Gulf Helicopters to form an aviation joint venture.
This would provide aircraft management, maintenance support, spares, training, design and development services to Sikorsky, Gulf and other operators in the region. "The Middle East has become a significant region for S-92 and S-76 helicopters and Sikorsky looks forward to the opportunities this MoU creates for future co-operation," says Sikorsky president Jeffrey Pino.
The signing coincides with an order from Gulf, a subsidiary of state-owned Qatar Petroleum, for its second S-92 VVIP-configured aircraft
