Dubai is getting its first glimpse of how Sikorsky plans to capture a share of the luxury civil helicopter market with a cabin mock-up of the S-92 in VIP, executive transport and head of state configurations.

Sikorsky says comfort and flexibility are the key selling points it is hoping to impress on potential customers. The mock-up on display this week includes seating arrangements for between four and 10 passengers, a lavatory, folding tables, privacy doors and a full 6ft (2m) stand-up height.

Sikorsky is also highlighting the range of mid-cabin partition options. The mock up can be configured with 24in (600mm) high cabinets to separate the forward and aft seating areas, keeping the upper cabin space free from obstructions.

Operators are also able to request a single floor-to-ceiling-partition which can be installed in the mid-cabin area, adding an option for an additional plasma display and monitor.

The mock-up can be transported for display at customer sites and trade shows as required. It is equipped with external electrical power connections and self-contained air-conditioning. Cabin features such as lighting systems, overhead passenger service units, captain chairs, pocket doors, and audio and video entertainment systems are all fully operational.

Sikorsky says the cabin has been created using aircraft grade materials to display the many possible combinations of wall treatments, trim materials, fabrics, plating, carpet, seat upholstery selections and other cabin appointments.
