Thai helicopter operator Si-Chang has acquired three Sikorsky S-76C+s to meet a new contract with Thai oil company PTT. The first aircraft has already been delivered and is expected to enter revenue service by the end of this month, says PTT aviation consultant Gerald Roberts. The final two helicopters will be delivered next month.

PTT now uses Thai Aviation Service, which is partly owned by Canadian operator CHC, to provide six S-76As and two Sikorsky S-61Ns from a base at Songkhla in southern Thailand. PTT is to enlist Si-Chang, which operates two Eurocopter BK117s in Bangkok, as a second operator. Si-Chang has hired Norwegian operator Norsk to help it start up an offshore oil operation from Songkhla.
