SimuFlite Training International is close to announcing the location for a new simulator centre in the north east USA. The first device to be installed at the unidentified site will be a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter simulator on order from CAE.

SimuFlite's main base is at Dallas/Fort Worth International in Texas, where the company has a growing fleet of business aircraft simulators. The Dallas/Fort Worth site is also the location for the company's business jet training venture with Bombardier.

Other than the S-76, the number and types of simulator to be installed at the new location have still to be decided, says SimuFlite. While Dallas/Fort Worth is centrally located, corporate aircraft operations are heavily concentrated in the north-east USA.

SimuFlite, owned by General Electric Capital Aviation Services, is continuing to expand its Dallas/ Fort Worth centre. A CAE-built Cessna Citation Bravo simulator has just entered service, to be followed by a Gulfstream V in July, a Citation Excel in September and Raytheon Beechjet 400A and King Air 350 simulators later this year.
