Simulation and training provider CAE has announced the opening of a new business aviation training centre in the USA.
To be located in New York or New Jersey, the centre will open by the middle of 2006. It will house six full-flight simulators, including a Dassault Falcon 7X, a Falcon 900 EX EASy/2000 EX EASy and a Raytheon Beechjet 400A simulator, and will comprise eight simulator bays, with room for expansion.
It will be the fourth of CAE's major business aviation training centres, after Dallas in Texas, Dubai and its London centre in the UK, which is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2006.
CAE group president for civil simulation and training Jeff Roberts says: "Giving operators access to a truly global network of training centres so that pilots and maintenance personnel can be trained where it's most convenient to them is one of our main objectives."
CAE has also announced the introduction of a pilot training course for the Embraer Legacy aircraft. While recurrent training on the Legacy began in May, the 21-day initial pilot training course on the aircraft begins this month at CAE's Arizona facility.
"This latest training program extends our suite of training programs for business aircraft operators," says Roberts.
