FlightSafety Academy has added a Level D full-flight simulator for the Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet to its advanced airline training programme. The simulator, built by parent company FlightSafety International, is part of a programme that provides students with the training to become first officers with regional or corporate operators with lower total flight time.

More than 100 graduates have been hired by regional and corporate operators since last year, says the Vero Beach, Florida-based academy. Operators hiring them include American Eagle and ExpressJet, both of which have the ERJ-145 as their principal aircraft, as well as Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
