Eurocopter's South-east Asia subsidiary has concluded its first sales contract with Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) for one EC135 aircraft.
The twin-engine helicopter will be delivered to the ministry in December, and will be operated on exploration and surveillance flights, says Eurocopter South-east Asia.
It finalised the sales contract after establishing a branch office in Thailand in December 2009.
"We are delighted at this vote of confidence from the MNRE. For nearly 20 years we have been supporting its fleet of our AS350 helicopters - a long and successful partnership," says Dr. Bernhard Brenner, president of Eurocopter South-east Asia.
"Our recently-opened branch office in Bangkok is there to provide even better support for our customers in Thailand and across the region, and we are delighted by this evidence of momentum in the deepening of Eurocopter's relationship with South-east Asia."
