Lufthansa Technik has signed agreements with two Asia-Pacific carriers to provide maintenance services.
Its Philippines subsidiary inked a three-year contract with Malaysia's AirAsia X for maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the airline's fleet of eight Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft.
The services will be performed at Lufthansa Technik Philippines' facility in Manila, says the MRO firm.
Under the agreement, the carrier will receive four C-checks and a heavy maintenance check in the first year of the contract.
Lufthansa Technik also signed a three-year agreement with Australia's Virgin Blue for repair work on the CFM56-7B engines on the airline group's 60 Boeing 737 aircraft.
The work will be carried out at the MRO firm's subsidiary LTQ Engineering in Melbourne.
