SIA Engineering has signed a memorandum of understanding with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to explore the possibility of setting up a joint venture company.
The potential joint venture will offer maintenance, repair and overhaul services of in-flight entertainment and communications (IFEC) systems and components produced by Panasonic Avionics.
The two companies will work towards a definitive agreement to set up a regional centre of excellence for components used in Panasonic Avionics IFEC systems, says SIA Engineering.

The conclusion of the agreement will be conditional upon receiving the necessary approvals, it adds.
Panasonic Avionics' chief operating officer Yasu Enokido says: "This proposed joint venture with SIA Engineering will enable us to be more responsive and flexible when proving maintenance services of the highest quality to our customers."
