Indian start-up Air Costa has signed for up to 100 Embraer E2 regional jets at the Singapore air show.
The airline has ordered 25 E-190 E2s and 25 E-195 E2s with purchase rights for a further 25 of each type, in a deal valued at $2.94 billion at list prices, rising to $5.88 billion if the options are exercised.
Air Costa's commitment is the first airline order for the two largest variants of the re-engined E-Jets.
Deliveries of the E-190 E2s will commence in 2018, with the E-195 E2s following a year later.
The transaction takes Embraer's firm backlog for the E2 series to 200, as well as 200 options and purchase rights since it was launched in June 2013.
Air Costa operates two E-170s and will take delivery of two E-190s in February leased from GE Capital Aviation Services.
